REGIONAL DIRECTOR

AudreyLester_Nebraska.jpeg

Although Audrey is impressed by the recent headway that feminism has made, she still understand that further advancement is needed. However, many people in her area don't shred's this view and believe that the fight for womxn's liberation is something of the past, preventing (and sometimes erasing) progress. For the sake of the womxn in her community, she knows that these misconceptions have to be corrected,  and that awareness and advocacy has to spread. She saw the regional director position at new/gen as the perfect way to accomplish this.

aboutus

Many Nebraskans somehow think that Nebraska is either a post-sexism state or that the sexism that does exist is negligible. Although there are more extreme forms of sexism throughout the world that new/gen Nebraska also aims to focus on, it is nonetheless important to understand how oppression affects women in Nebraskan communities. new/gen Nebraska aims to work with other organizations and independently to make sure that Nebraskan gender equality continues to progress, as well as to ensure that previous advancements aren't vulnerable to relapse.
